Job Title: Project Engineer

We're seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Todd Hayes Ltd in Norwich.

This full-time, permanent role involves working 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, in our Norwich office.

Travel to various UK sites and offshore may be required, with enhanced rates of pay.

Key Accountabilities:

  • To oversee project completion and ensure timely delivery.
  • Responsible for project ownership from handover to completion, maintaining accurate records and resolving actions.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers and internal departments, handling commercial and technical aspects of project delivery.
  • Identify potential risks, including commercial, contractual, design, and schedule-related issues.
  • Assess and mitigate risk impacts, notifying senior staff of any concerns.
  • Create and manage project schedules, identifying critical path items and capturing quality assurance and control elements.
  • Maintain up-to-date financial management systems reflecting actual progress and forecast costs at the project level.
  • Alert senior staff to significant forecast deviations.
  • Understand project scope, ensuring all departments are aware of progress and that the project remains on track.
  • Develop project user requirements, documentation, and manuals by engaging with customers and completing sales/purchase orders against agreed specifications.
  • Responsibility for timely ordering of materials/services to meet project needs and raising material enquiries and purchase requisitions.
  • Ensure all project processes are followed, project controls are met, and deliverables are suitable for purpose upon project delivery/excecution/commissioning.
  • Lead project kick-off meetings with the design team and participate in design reviews.
  • Present project progress reviews to directors.
  • Initiate HAZID and HAZOP meetings as necessary.
  • This role requires the right to work in the UK without restrictions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant engineering qualifications.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role with proven success.
  • Experience of successful customer interactions.
  • Project-level financial forecasting.
  • High organisational and accuracy skills.

Salary: £68,000 - £88,000 per annum.
