Job Overview

We are looking for an ambitious, self-motivated and driven experienced Civil Engineer to join our growing civils team working on a variety of infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity for the right candidate to develop their skills and progress their career working as part of a team of innovative engineers and specialists.

Responsibilities
  • Use the latest design software to create and manage designs.
  • Liaise with key clients and discuss design/technical solutions with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are appropriately resourced, delegating work to team members, programming deliverables, and monitoring progress.

Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 2 years experience working in Civil Engineering
  • MEng, MSc, BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering or other relevant degree level qualification
  • Demonstrable record of involvement in the design of highways and infrastructure projects
  • Understanding of the use of design tools within a BIM environment
  • Use of industry design standards, i.e. DMRB; Manual for Streets; NJUG, SSG etc.
  • Problem solver, able to offer solutions to challenges
  • Able to work and collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Confident, articulate, collaborative & proactive
  • Eagerness to learn and to develop your skills and career with training support
  • Good time management and organisational skills to efficiently manage workload.
  • A good knowledge of the CDM regulations in addition to British standards and EU regulations.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel across the UK to visit sites and other JMS offices.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK and be able to demonstrate proof when requested.
