At the Structural Engineering Alliance Group, we are seeking a skilled and ambitious Civil Engineer to join our growing civils team in Norwich. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to work on a variety of infrastructure projects, developing their skills and progressing their career.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and self-driven Civil Engineer with a degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. As part of our civils team, you will be involved from initial scheme concept through to detailed design and construction stages. Your role will involve working alongside colleagues to deliver highways and infrastructure projects for a diverse range of clients and sectors.

Main Responsibilities

  • Create and manage designs using the latest software.
  • Liaise with key clients and discuss design/technical solutions with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are appropriately resourced, delegating work to team members, programming deliverables, and monitoring progress.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years experience working in Civil Engineering.
  • MEng, MSc, BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering or other relevant degree level qualification.
  • Demonstrable record of involvement in the design of highways and infrastructure projects.
  • Understanding of the use of design tools within a BIM environment.
  • Use of industry design standards, i.e. DMRB; Manual for Streets; NJUG, SSG etc.
  • Problem solver, able to offer solutions to challenges.
  • Able to work and collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Confident, articulate, collaborative & proactive.
  • Eagerness to learn and to develop your skills and career with training support.
  • Good time management and organisational skills to efficiently manage workload.
  • A good knowledge of the CDM regulations in addition to British standards and EU regulations.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel across the UK to visit sites and other JMS offices.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK and be able to demonstrate proof when requested.
