About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Developer to join our team in the Corporate Transformation Directorate. As a key member of our newly formed team, you will play a crucial part in delivering agile projects within a portfolio and working closely with other members of the team in the development and delivery of automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Automation Opportunities: Support the team to take a holistic approach to identify automation opportunities, employing process optimization techniques and the use of LEAN/agile methodologies where required.
  • Automation Process Solution: Lead on the design, build, testing, and deployment of automation process solutions, including collecting and documenting requirements, defining process and technical solutions, prototyping, configuring digital components, and supporting stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Issue Resolution: Oversight of the prioritization, investigation, and resolution of issues and change requests in the production environment.
  • Long-term Development Strategy: Work with the technical architect to formulate a long-term development strategy.
  • RPA Development Methodology: Define RPA development methodology and testing practices/standards, ensuring adherence to RPA/development/coding standards and naming conventions.
  • Stakeholder Management: Manage and engage with stakeholders, encouraging and facilitating continuous improvement.
  • Team Leadership: Build, maintain, and mature a motivated and collaborative agile team, and line manage other colleagues as required.
About the Team

You will be part of a motivated, collaborative, and supportive team, where you will have the opportunity to develop your technical skill-set and help build the Scottish Government's Intelligent Automation Centre of Excellence.
