About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Automation Developer to join our team at The Scottish Government. As a key member of our Corporate Transformation Directorate, you will play a crucial role in shaping and delivering transformational corporate change across the wider public sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify Automation Opportunities: Employ process optimization techniques and LEAN/agile methodologies to identify areas for automation and develop solutions to improve business processes.
  • Design and Develop Automation Solutions: Support the design, build, testing, and deployment of automation process solutions, including collecting and documenting requirements, defining process and technical solutions, prototyping, configuring digital components, and supporting stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Process Controller: Maintain the daily administration of the production environment, including scheduling processes and monitoring resources, and investigate, escalate, and resolve any issues identified.
  • Support Business and Technical Reviews: Support business and technical reviews of automation performance operational and performance metrics reporting.
  • Develop and Maintain Documentation: Develop and maintain appropriate documentation for all facets of RPA work.
  • Contribute to RPA Development Methodology: Contribute to RPA development methodology and testing practices/standards, ensuring adherence to RPA/development/coding standards and naming conventions.

You will be part of a motivated, collaborative, and supportive team, where you will have the opportunity to develop your technical skill-set and help build The Scottish Government's Automation Centre of Excellence.
