Job Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Clinical Fellow to join our team in Medical Oncology. The successful candidate will work alongside consultants and trainees in out-patient clinics, supervising Technical Radiotherapy delivery and performing on-treatment reviews and follow-up assessments.
Key Responsibilities:- Work alongside consultants and trainees in out-patient clinics, supervising Technical Radiotherapy delivery and performing on-treatment reviews and follow-up assessments.
- Develop expertise in the development, management, and treatment of HPB and oligometastatic tumour sites with SABR.
- Provide senior input to all aspects of the management of patients with HBT and oligometastatic disease, including screening of referrals, active participation in MDT, assessment of patients, consent, review of patients on pre-treatment, treatment, planning of SABR, review and approval of SABR plans, technical radiotherapy development, and post-treatment ePROMS.
- Teach junior medical staff, medical students, and nurses on occasion and participate in audit and research.
The successful candidate will be a Fellow in the department of Clinical Oncology, managerially accountable to the Clinical Director of the Directorate of Clinical Oncology, and professionally responsible to the consultants in whose clinics they will be supporting.
Working Arrangements:The post-holder will be assigned a clinical supervisor (Consultant Clinical Oncologist) and will work alongside their supervisor in at least one clinic. The timetable below is indicative and will be confirmed on commencement in post.
- Monday: AM Clinic, TBS review clinic; PM Admin / Liver SABR MDT
- Tuesday: AM Clinic / Pelvic MDT; PM Renal SABR MDT (alternate weeks)
- Wednesday: AM Radiotherapy planning; PM Admin / Bone SABR MDT
- Thursday: AM Clinic; PM Radiotherapy planning
- Friday: AM Admin; PM Training
This role does not require participation in the on-call rota.
