In the esteemed field of autonomous systems, Oxa Autonomy is a pioneering force, transforming the way the Earth moves. As a Senior Autonomous Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in providing a complete yet concise description of the world around an autonomous vehicle.

This position is part of the Localisation & Mapping stream, which generates a semantic understanding of the vehicle's local environment to enable informed decision-making. The Scene Maker team fuses data from offline maps and online information from localisation, object detection/tracking, and semantic classifications.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and deliver software for semantic understanding, ensuring seamless integration with our local scene building stack.
  • Collaborate with the team on high-level design decisions, driving innovative solutions.
  • Implement and test algorithms for enhancing our semantic understanding systems.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and optimise software performance.
  • Develop and test our local scene API, used by multiple systems.
  • Perform performance analysis and optimise software to meet real-time constraints.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated expertise in algorithms development for robotics, particularly semantic understanding and mapping.
  • Proven excellence in software development for production systems, with a focus on testing, safety, and performance.
  • Strong knowledge of C++11/14/17 and experience with Python (Numpy, Scipy, Jupyter Notebooks).
  • A measured, scientific approach to building complex engineering systems.

We offer a competitive salary of £85,000 per annum, benchmarked against the market and reviewed annually. Additional benefits include hybrid work arrangements, flexible benefits, and a salary exchange pension plan.
