Job Description

As a Category Supply Chain Specialist at William Grant & Sons, you will be responsible for managing and delivering the procurement plan and supplier performance management for the category. Your primary goal is to manage external spend to plan or better and partner with suppliers to maximize service and performance.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver assigned category plans to support achievement of procurement and business objectives, flagging any risks or non-conformances through the appropriate risk management process and proposing measures to mitigate or correct.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to maintain the supplier base and ensure ongoing, effective procurement of goods and services in line with operational demand.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of contract negotiations as required by line manager.
  • Proactively support suppliers in resolving escalated issues and implement agreed countermeasures in a timely manner.
  • Track and report category performance, identifying opportunities for improvement to category plans and targets.
  • Closely monitor supplier performance against agreed measures, developing a collaborative approach to continuous improvement and issue resolution.
  • Evaluate and embed changes to performance metrics in supplier contracts or derogations where necessary, ensuring data completeness and reporting.
  • Deliver an external spend plan for the category to drive improvements in operating margin and achieve business goals.
