About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Water Scientist to join our multidisciplinary water environment team. As a Water Scientist, you will play a key role in assisting with a range of projects, including technical investigations, restoration projects, and impact assessments for major national and international infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct water quality studies, including baseline studies, environmental impact assessments, and nutrient loading studies.
  • Perform hydrological investigations, including flood, drought, and water resource allocation studies.
  • Conduct geomorphological studies, including channel enhancement and restoration projects, Natural Flood Management studies, and Fluvial Audits.
  • Support WFD / Environmental Compliance studies and EIA for various development types.
  • Provide pollution prevention advice, including preparing Water Management Plans and developing sustainable treatment trains.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified with an MSc in Geography, Geomorphology, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Hydro-chemistry, or similar.
  • Ability to conceptualise surface water environment issues.
  • Excellent report writing skills and ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience using GIS and a full UK driving licence.
