Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • To implement GCH values and principles in social care practice, ensuring positive outcomes for residents and a fulfilling experience.
  • Establish effective communication with stakeholders, including residents, families, and staff.
  • Ensure staff are competent in supporting residents with medication, following guidelines for administration and recording.
  • Regularly review and evaluate person-centered care plans, monitoring content and implementation as residents' needs change.
  • Make referrals to specialist agencies, such as GPs and nurses, to ensure individual needs are identified and met.
  • Provide a safe and secure environment for residents, completing comprehensive risk assessments.
  • Communicate with carers on care issues, ensuring staff understand their duty of care in medical and other emergencies.
  • Safeguard all customers and ensure legal compliance with national and local safeguarding policy.

Person Specification

  • Understanding of regulatory responsibilities as a Manager.
  • Excellent understanding of high-quality, person-centered care and support principles.
  • Ability to negotiate a budget.
  • Knowledge and use of clinical assessment tools.
  • Experience of writing care plans and leading a shift.
  • Experience working in the care home environment and with individuals with dementia.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
