Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Reception Shift Lead to join our dynamic team at Morris House Group Practice. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and staff.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide supervision and guidance to the reception and administration team, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations and high-quality patient care.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for patients and staff, resolving queries and issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support the Practice Manager and Operations Manager in implementing practice procedures and policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the team through positive role-modeling and example, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the reception team receives, assists, and directs patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a caring, courteous, and effective way.
  • Implement and maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors.
  • Assist the practice in achieving target-based functions, such as Quality and Outcomes Framework or Locally Commissioned Services.
Person Specification
  • High level of numeracy and literacy, as demonstrated through GCSE or A-level qualifications or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to de-escalate situations and manage critical situations.
  • Ability to co-ordinate and lead a team to achieve goals, with a high level of organisational and logistical skills.
  • Experience of working with others in a Practice, with knowledge of internal General Practice processes and procedures.
  • High level of ability to use EMIS, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and keep up with change.
