About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Sous Chef to join our award-winning team at Avery Healthcare. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality culinary services to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Chef in leading the culinary team to provide a nutritionally balanced and comprehensive culinary service that meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Prepare modified diets that are visually appealing and meet the dietary needs of our residents, in accordance with IDDSI guidelines.
  • Supervise and direct the work of culinary staff, providing instruction and demonstration on food preparation activities.
  • Ensure that all food preparation meets the highest hygiene standards and that the Avery Food Safety Management System is fully understood and implemented by all team members.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you must possess a relevant catering qualification, such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ, and have a minimum of 1 year of catering experience. You must also demonstrate compassion, commitment to delivering high-quality culinary services, and the ability to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
