About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Engineer to join our team at Kier Group. As a Principal Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of a broad range of civil and structural related services in both Temporary and Permanent Works throughout the Kier business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Temporary Works Design and Checking: You will be responsible for designing and checking Temporary Works above and below ground in all materials, integrated with Permanent Works design if applicable.
  • Delivery of Alternative Solutions and Value Engineering: You will contribute to the delivery of more complex services by providing solutions that are safe and buildable (in both their temporary and permanent states), enhancing Kier's reputation and competitive position.
  • Tender Stage and Bid Winning Support: You will provide support at the tender stage and bid-winning process, focusing on buildability, efficiency, and innovation.
  • Technical Assessment and Review: You will conduct technical assessments and reviews of 3rd party designs, ensuring compliance with the brief to meet client and Kier requirements.
  • Team Management and Mentorship: You will manage and mentor junior KPS team members.
Requirements
  • Chartered Engineer: You must be a chartered engineer or be looking to become chartered.
  • Temporary Works Design Experience: You must have an interest in Temporary Works Design or experience in it already.
  • Full UK Driving Licence: You must have a full UK driving licence.
