About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Merchandising to lead our merchandising team and drive commercial success at Poundland.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact on one of the UK's largest value retailers, collaborating closely with buying, finance, and other departments to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective merchandising strategies to drive sales and profitability
  • Lead a high-performing merchandising team to achieve business objectives
  • Collaborate with buying, finance, and other departments to ensure alignment and effective decision-making
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer behavior to inform merchandising decisions
  • Manage and optimize merchandise planning, buying, and inventory processes to minimize waste and maximize efficiency

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in merchandising leadership, with a strong commercial focus
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
