Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT professional to join our team as an HR Business Partner - IT Support Specialist. This role will provide first-line support to customers on all matters relating to IT provision, working closely with the helpdesk team to resolve customer requests.

Main Duties of the Job

  1. Provide assistance and advice to customers, including those with little or no IT knowledge, and resolve IT support requests without referral where appropriate.
  2. Accurately log all details for each request on the helpdesk system.
  3. Support other helpdesk team members to resolve requests.
  4. Ensure outstanding requests are followed up and closed in accordance with UH Sussex standards.
  5. Keep up to date with changes to IT standards, service level agreements, and UH Sussex standards.
  6. Generate reports from the helpdesk system as required.
  7. Assist management with audits within the department by partaking in areas of own remit.
  8. Identify areas requiring service improvements and comment on policies and protocols as required.

Person Specification

Education and Experience

  1. Good general level of education.
  2. ECDL or equivalent recent computing qualification or relevant customer service-related experience in a technical environment.
  3. Basic PC maintenance.
  4. Experienced user of Microsoft operating systems and application software.
