About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled HR Business Partner to join our team at Southern Water. As a key member of our People Services team, you will be responsible for providing expert HR advice and support to employees at all levels.

Key Responsibilities
  1. HR Advisory Service
  • Provide a dedicated HR advisory service in relation to employment and employee relations matters, covering areas such as employment law, employee relations, staff movements, reward and performance, learning and development, recruitment and selection.
Legislative Compliance
  • Ensure legislation, policy, and best practice are followed and HR Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met.
Enquiry Management
  • Confidently respond to incoming enquiries, log outcomes, and ensure that all individuals are given a case reference number.
  • Evaluate and escalate enquiries that require deeper investigation or advice in accordance with the PSD Escalation Procedure.
Process Improvement
  • Analyse and interpret trends in work and queries to promote awareness of issues around the business and recommend business/policy/process improvement opportunities.
Administrative Support
  • Arrange and coordinate administrative processes such as pre-employment checks, confidential health surveillance checks, reference creation, eye care vouchers, and other HR schemes.
  • Order, purchase, and process invoices for goods and services in line with company procedures.
Professional Development
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of employment law, best practice, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Coach more junior members of the People Services Team.
Requirements
  • CIPD qualified or working towards qualification.
  • Excellent IT skills (office suite) and other HR systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of HR policies and processes and the ability to work within set parameters.
  • Understanding of governance and compliance policies, including Data Protection principles.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ideal Experience

Knowledge of Workday. Experience of working with Unions, Manufacturing, Engineering, or Construction.
