About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chief Reinsurance Controllership Leader to join our team at AXA XL. As a key member of our global finance leadership, you will be responsible for leading the financial reporting process of the Reinsurance Segment and ensuring compliance with corporate and segment timetables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the financial reporting process of the Reinsurance Segment, ensuring quality and accuracy of output.
  • Compile a Segment set of financial statements for both balance sheet and income statement.
  • Evaluate and ensure compliance with AXA group accounting standards for the segment reporting.
  • Coordinate reserve reconciliations and collaborate with Actuarial and Regional Finance teams.
  • Lead efforts to improve processes, data quality, and information provision across the segment.
  • Manage expectations and deliverables of the Corporate team, ensuring alignment across regions for timely delivery.
  • Support Balance Sheet Analytics and internal/external audit review.
  • Perform centralized controls to assure the accuracy and reliability of Financial information.
  • Provide leadership to the Segment Finance team and opportunities for staff development.
  • Support business planning and strategic process as needed.
  • Lead the Finance Functional Team meetings and represent Finance in the Functional IT Steering Group.
  • Manage IFRS architecture flow and reporting financials on an IFRS basis.

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant with extensive post-qualification experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry.
  • Bachelor's degree with extensive post-qualification experience demonstrating progressive positions held in the insurance and reinsurance industry.
  • Knowledge and experience with GAAP/IFRS accounting and reporting, emphasizing IFRS 17 experience.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics.
  • Experience with Oracle, Hyperion Financials, and general ability to understand financial reporting databases and tools.
  • Rewarding analytical and report writing skills, solid organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrable previous experience working in a global organization with demands across multiple time zones.
