About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Android Software Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our Android mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and Development: Design and develop high-quality Android mobile applications that meet the needs of our customers.
  2. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design and product teams, to ensure that every solution is well-aligned with user needs and organizational goals.
  3. Architecture and Design: Lead the architecture and design of features, from conception to launch, ensuring that they are scalable, reliable, and meet the needs of our customers.
  4. Process Improvement: Help to improve engineering processes and tools to increase team effectiveness and efficiency.
  5. Agile Development: Participate in an agile development process to deliver high-quality software that meets the needs of our customers.
About the Team

Our team focuses on developing a UI framework that helps create consistent, user-friendly, and accessible applications. We take a data-driven approach, emphasizing ownership and a customer-centric strategy to deliver innovative and seamless experiences.

Requirements
  1. Professional Experience: Experience in professional software development, with a focus on Android mobile application development.
  2. Design and Architecture: Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, with a focus on design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  3. Programming Skills: Experience programming with at least one software programming language, with a focus on Android mobile application development.
  4. Android Development: Experience developing Android mobile applications using Kotlin, with a focus on unit testing and custom UI components.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  2. Full Software Development Life Cycle: Experience with the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  3. Jetpack Compose: Experience developing applications using Jetpack Compose.
  4. Accessibility: Experience with accessibility in mobile applications.
  5. Frameworks: Experience with frameworks like Coroutines, Flows, RxJava.
