About Us

The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability is a leading national centre of excellence, providing adult person-centred services that span the entire care pathway from post-acute rehabilitation services to end of life care, for people with complex Neuro-disability and their families.

Our Team

We have approximately 45 members of staff who work together to provide high-quality domestic services. Our team includes permanent, bank, and agency domestic staff, as well as Ward Technicians who are responsible for providing food and beverage, kitchen hygiene, and clean laundry distribution services.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable individual to join our Domestic Services Department as a Ward Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a pleasant, hygienic, and comfortable environment for patients via the provision of high-quality domestic services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing food and beverage services to wards, including meal preparation and service, in accordance with cook chill guidelines and training given.
  • Maintaining kitchen hygiene standards, including cleaning equipment and surfaces, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Distributing clean laundry to personal wardrobes or drawers, ensuring all clothing is stored correctly and in accordance with food safety regulations.
  • Ensuring compliance with mandatory training and attending other relevant training as directed.
  • Treating patients, visitors, and staff with dignity and respect.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent customer service skills, good verbal communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work flexibly either individually or as part of a team. You will also need to be able to read and understand documents to the required standard.

We offer a competitive salary of £28,232 per annum, which reflects the current market rate for this role based on location and industry standards. In addition, we offer a range of benefits, including opportunities for career development and professional growth.
