Job Description

Job Title: Financial Manager - Accountancy

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Financial Manager - Accountancy to join our team at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the financial planning and management of our Care Group/Corporate areas, ensuring accurate and timely financial reports, and providing financial expertise to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the financial planning and management of Care Group/Corporate areas, ensuring accurate and timely financial reports.
  • Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to support business decisions.
  • Provide financial expertise to support business decisions, including financial analysis, modeling, and forecasting.
  • Manage and develop the finance team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations, including NHS finance and business planning regimes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective financial management and planning.
  • Develop and implement cost improvement plans to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to finance staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.

Requirements:

  • Professional accounting qualification (CCAB or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 2 years post-CCAB or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of NHS finance and business planning regimes.
  • Working with computerised financial systems.
  • Ability to problem solve and find solutions.
  • Numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to assimilate and interpret data to make resultant judgments.
  • Demonstrate the application of professional ethics, values, and judgment in support of the core values underpinning the Finance Department.
  • Values diversity and difference, operates with integrity and openness.
  • Self-awareness in terms of emotional intelligence, biases, and personal triggers with cultural sensitivity and awareness.
