About the Role

The Royal Mencap Society is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Treasurer for our affiliated Network Partner. As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial affairs of the organisation, ensuring they are legal, constitutional, and in line with accepted accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Oversight: Ensure the financial health of the organisation is monitored and reported on a regular basis.
2. Financial Reporting: Oversee the production of necessary financial reports, returns, accounts, and audits.
3. Financial Governance: Ensure proper records are kept and effective financial procedures are in place.
4. Financial Planning: Oversee the production of an annual budget and propose its adoption at the last meeting of the previous financial year.
5. Financial Management: Liaise with relevant staff, committee members, and/or volunteers to ensure the financial viability of the organisation.

Requirements

• Strong financial management skills and experience.
• Ability to interpret financial data and present it to committee members.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
