About the Role

Elevation Recruitment Group is proud to be partnering with a well-established PLC business in the UK as they seek a highly skilled Commercial Accountant to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly for the UK Head of Forecasting & Reporting, overseeing all financial aspects of the entities operating from Head Office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Collaborate with the management accounts process, delivering high-quality financial reports and training to the core team as required.
  • Overhead Cost Management: Own and manage all overhead costs for specific departments, including calculation and input into the finance system of monthly prepayments and accruals.
  • Department Reporting: Produce departmental reporting to support financial planning, reviewing and investigating any variances between actual results and budgeted/forecasted figures.
  • Business Partnership: Build strong relationships with commercial departments, acting as a business partner for financial and numerical queries.
  • Financial Reporting: Calculate and own figures for quarterly budgets and forecasts, presenting monthly finance reports to direct line managers and senior finance as required.
  • Entity Financial Management: Have the opportunity to be responsible for the financials of an entity, including ownership of management accounts, balance sheet review, and statutory audit.
  • Audit Support: Support group and statutory audits for relevant areas.
  • Integration Support: Assist with the integration of new subsidiaries.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualification with 2 years of experience working in a similar role within finance.
  • Technical Skills: Confident using MS Excel to interpret complex data and draw business conclusions.
  • Soft Skills: Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to challenge.
