Job Summary:

Hiring People is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Operations Manager to join our team on a part-time basis. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in driving our financial operations and ensuring the company's financial health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to provide insights into our company's financial performance.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and manage annual budgets with accurate forecasting and variance analysis to ensure our financial goals are met.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that support our business strategy.
  • Financial Controls: Implement and maintain strong financial controls to protect our assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure our company is fully compliant with all tax laws and regulations, including VAT, corporation tax, and payroll taxes.
  • Treasury Management: Optimize our cash flow and working capital to ensure our financial stability.
  • Financial Systems: Oversee the maintenance and improvement of our financial systems and software to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Essential:
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in finance management, ideally within a contracting business.
    • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
    • In-depth understanding of UK financial regulations and tax laws.
  • Desirable:
    • ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification.
    • Experience in start-ups or small businesses.
    • Comfort working remotely or in a flexible setting.
