Job Overview

This exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic Therapy leadership team as Therapy Service Lead for the Dietetic and Speech & Language Therapy teams. The role fits within a supportive, flexible team who manage Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Prosthetics and Orthotics within an acute Trust.

Working in this position offers the chance to help shape services that are rapidly evolving and collaborate with Professional Leads at Bedford Hospital to drive services forward to meet future demand and modernisation.

Main Responsibilities
  • The Therapy Clinical Service Manager is accountable for managing all aspects of Therapy delivery within clinical service lines to agreed quality standards and within resource and income bases.
  • To be an Allied Health Professional (AHP) leader and role model, championing Trust values and upholding high standards of behaviour and compassion for colleagues.
  • Responsible for the smooth and safe day-to-day running of Therapy Services while ensuring service delivery standards are achieved.
  • Collaborate with other Therapy leadership team members, General Managers, Clinical Leads, Heads of Nursing, and other colleagues to ensure service delivery and improvement plans are developed, implemented and reviewed.

We require someone with Masters level or equivalent relevant training, management/leadership qualification, HCPC registration, proven experience in management/leadership, experience of managing large/complex teams, involvement in business case development, leading on quality improvement, AHP clinical background, financial procedures and budget setting knowledge, AHP initiatives locally and nationally awareness, understanding of change management, risk management and governance skills.

A strong analytical and problem-solving ability in a leadership position, ability to work independently and make autonomous decisions, excellent communication skills verbally and written, able to provide and receive highly complex sensitive information and use persuasion, influence and negotiation, ability to provide clear concise formal reports are essential.

£55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including flexible working options.
