Software Lab Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Lab Technician to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the IT infrastructure for our Systems lab, working closely with software and hardware development teams to create the infrastructure needed for end-to-end testing strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the physical IT infrastructure of our Systems lab, including networking, machine setup, and configuration.
  2. Extend the Systems Lab with new HW platforms under test, ensuring seamless integration with our existing infrastructure.
  3. Collaborate with our IT professionals to enable correct access to our Systems lab, ensuring secure and efficient access for all team members.
  4. Perform initial testing of new software features as part of our regular release flow, identifying and resolving any issues that may arise.
  5. Assist in the automation of our software product, leveraging your expertise in software quality assurance and testing.
  6. Identify early customer-facing issues, help with the analysis and debugging, and work closely with developers to facilitate their resolution.
  7. Stay current with industry best practices and emerging trends in software engineering and software quality assurance, ensuring our team remains at the forefront of innovation.
  8. Assist engineers and multi-functional teams in lab setup and planning, based on given space, power, and cooling capabilities.
  9. Manage and maintain sufficient inventory of key equipment, including cables, connectors, and adapters.
  10. Occasionally assist development teams with manual testing as needed, providing valuable insights and expertise.
Requirements:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in software quality assurance and testing, with a deep understanding of technical areas such as Python, testing frameworks, and Linux.
  3. Basic knowledge of Python and familiarity with key networking concepts and configurations.
  4. Highly preferred: understanding of testing frameworks like pytest and testing flows.
  5. Proven experience in software quality assurance and testing, with a strong track record of identifying and resolving issues.
  6. Experience with troubleshooting computer and computer network-related issues.
  7. Familiarity with Linux and key networking concepts and configurations.
