Assistant Night Operations Manager

Job Title: Assistant Night Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Night Manager in overseeing the night audit process
- Conduct night audit duties in collaboration with the Night Manager
- Carry out routine maintenance checks on the network and system audit controls
- Maintain a well-presented and organized team environment, promoting morale through encouragement of teamwork and a positive attitude
- Investigate security breaches, complete relevant forms, and advise relevant authorities using the correct legal process
- Handle disruptive guests and ensure their discreet removal from the property if necessary
- Act as a representative for all departments in the absence of their respective managers during the night-time operation
- Enforce hotel policies and procedures to achieve exceptional levels of service
- Attend and conduct monthly operation meetings to review, monitor, and upgrade the performance of the department through the dissemination of information, new directions, policies, and procedures
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of specified diaries and reports
- Respond promptly and efficiently to all complaints, ensuring follow-up to determine the source of the complaint and resolution of the problem
- Be available at all times to address guest queries
- Ensure the hotel operates efficiently and in accordance with hotel policy
- Verify that all staff are on duty and in proper uniform, and liaise with department heads/supervisors for replacement of any absent staff
- Ensure all public areas, outlets, and Front Office areas are clean at all times
- Conduct performance appraisals on Night Audit staff
- Monitor occupancy to achieve maximum yield
- Maintain guest history and utilize it for all bookings as necessary
- Communicate all complaints and apparent problems to the appropriate department head
- Perform a thorough handover to the next Assistant Manager
- Issue floats and keys in accordance with SOPs
- Ensure adherence to all basic Liquor Licensing Laws
- Inspect all areas for general maintenance requirements
- Apply comprehensive knowledge of fire procedures and take control in the event of a fire
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Supervisory or Night Supervisor role within a Hotel environment
- A proactive approach to providing exceptional service
- A methodical approach to processing all tasks
- Effective communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel
- Experience with a Hotel Property Management System (PMS), preferably Opera
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure in a fast-paced environment
