Job Summary

The Amazon Workplace Health and Safety team is seeking an experienced Medical Representative to join our team. As an Onsite Medical Representative, you will work closely with the WHS site manager and WHS specialist to provide first aid support and guidance to Amazon Associates on occupational and non-occupational injuries or illnesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide first aid support and referrals to outside medical providers as necessary
  • Minimize Amazon Associate risk of injury through awareness, education, and proactive engagement
  • Maintain records of care provided to Amazon Associates
  • Coordinate and maintain workers' compensation and return to work programs for Amazon Associates with work-related injuries
  • Provide daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports
  • Engage with Amazon Associates and leadership on the operations floor to provide coaching on observed at-risk work habits
  • Maintain a clean working environment and ensure appropriate medical supply inventory
  • Participate in training and certification to facilitate first aid, CPR, and AED certifications
  • Work flexible shifts, including days, nights, holidays, and weekends
Requirements
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Valid card evidencing successful completion of standard first aid with CPR/AED level A or C from a Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) approved certifying authority
  • Valid Provincial Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) Certification from the Ministry of Health and/or the Canadian Organization of Paramedic Regulators, or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) from the Ministry of Health and/or the Provincial College of Nurses and/or Department of Health, or one year of job experience as a Military Medical Technician (Canadian Armed Forces)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified to teach first aid, CPR, and AED training from the Canadian Red Cross
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with an industrial wellness program
  • Experience managing musculoskeletal disorders, ergonomics, and coaching on body mechanics
  • Demonstrated work experience with OSHA regulations and Workers Compensation
  • Proficient in digital recordkeeping
