Ophthalmology Specialist

Are you a senior doctor seeking a new challenge in a coastal location with a large major city nearby? Head Medical is looking for a Consultant in Ophthalmology to join our clinically led service. As a Consultant, you'll work on a permanent contract across 4 acute hospital sites and numerous community, specialist, and primary care facilities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Sharing responsibility for the day-to-day management of ophthalmology patients with colleagues.
• Teaching and training of junior staff, medical students, postgraduates, and other healthcare personnel.
• Ensuring active participation in continuing medical education and professional development.

Requirements:

• Current GMC full registration and licence to practice.
• FRCOphth and entry on GMC specialist register for Ophthalmology or within 12 months of CCT date.

Desirable criteria include:

• Ability to supervise postgraduate research.
• Experience of teaching basic clinical skills to undergraduates.
• Experience in running and delivering clinical trials.
