An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and caring Supportive Learning Facilitator to join our team at Kirklees Council.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an individual with experience in supporting children with a range of additional needs, to work under the guidance of the SENDCO and class teacher. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering activities tailored to meet the unique needs of each child, providing one-to-one and small group support, as well as personal and intimate care when required.

The ideal candidate will possess a warm approach and nurturing manner, with a commitment to inclusion and inclusive practices. They should have excellent communication skills and be able to adapt to changing circumstances. As an integral part of our school community, you will contribute to creating a safe and supportive environment that allows children to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the SENDCO and class teacher to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Plans
  • Provide individualised support to children with varying levels of need, including those who require personal and intimate care
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure all children can access the curriculum
  • Contribute to staff meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills
Requirements:
  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with children with diverse needs and backgrounds
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing situations
