About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work with vulnerable children, supporting their educational and personal development in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Mentor and support one pupil or a small group of up to six pupils
- Work closely with classroom teachers to ensure effective lesson delivery and pupil progress
- Report on pupil progress and concerns, and collaborate with other school staff to meet individual needs
- Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extracurricular activities and school trips
- Assist with lesson planning and classroom preparation
- Set and mark work as required
- BUILD POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH YOUR PUPILS AND DRIVE INTERACTION AND POSITIVE LEARNING OUTCOMES
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A strong basic education, ideally to A-level, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics
- Prior experience in a similar role, such as a Teaching Assistant
- Some previous experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting
- The ability to take additional responsibility in areas such as food hygiene, forest school, lunchtimes, and school yoga
- Experience of behaviour management and techniques
- A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn
- A valid Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check prior to commencing work
