About the Role

This role involves working independently and as part of a team to provide 24/7 support to children and young people with autism, enabling them to access a range of fun and educational activities both on-site and out in the community. You will be responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment that promotes independence, confidence, and self-esteem.

As a Residential Support Worker, you will be expected to engage with children and young people, supporting them to develop their social, emotional, and life skills. You will work closely with other members of the team to plan and deliver individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each child or young person.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide high-quality care and support to children and young people with autism, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
  • To maintain accurate records of each child's progress, including any incidents or concerns.
  • To contribute to the development and implementation of individualized care plans, in collaboration with other team members.
  • To participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm and empathetic approach to working with children and young people with autism. You should be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in making a positive difference in the lives of others.

A relevant qualification in Health and Social Care or a related field would be advantageous, but not essential. What is essential is your ability to work as part of a team, think creatively, and adapt to changing circumstances.

Salary Information:

The salary for this role is £19,661.15 rising to £20,241.18 with increments. Additionally, you will be entitled to sleep-in allowances, free meals, and various employee benefits, including pension scheme contributions and instant access to up to 40% of your salary as you earn it.
