Job Title: Senior Proposal Manager

 

Babcock International Group is a leading provider of critical support services to the UK defence and security sectors. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Proposal Manager to join our Land Future Business Team.

 

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned proposal professional to work on high-profile bids, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver winning solutions. As a Senior Proposal Manager, you will be responsible for developing and managing bid programmes from inception to contract award, ensuring that our proposals meet the client's needs and exceed their expectations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of bid strategies and value propositions, working closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Manage bid programme budgets and project controls, ensuring effective progress and timely delivery.
  • Instil a culture of objective review, constructive challenge, and refinement throughout the proposal process.
  • Provide functional leadership and guidance to junior team members, promoting continuous improvement and best practices.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing, and subject matter experts, to develop compelling proposals that showcase our capabilities and expertise.

 

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Extensive experience in bid management, preferably in the defence or aerospace industry.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues.
  • A good understanding of business winning principles and the ability to apply them in a commercial environment.
  • An APMP qualification or equivalent would be advantageous, but not essential.
