We're seeking a skilled Habitat and Species Surveyor to join our London team, with a focus on supporting our projects across the UK.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of English nature conservation legislation and policy, as well as demonstrable experience in the practical application of habitat and/or protected species survey methodologies.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues and partners, developing your skills and expertise in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key responsibilities include preparing desk studies, collating ecological data sets, preparing and planning surveys, implementing surveys across the UK, analysing and interpreting ecological data, and contributing to consultancy reports.

Requirements
  • A basic knowledge of English nature conservation legislation and policy afforded to these habitats and species.
  • Demonstrable experience in the practical application of habitat and/or protected species survey methodologies.
  • Experience of report writing, including preliminary ecological appraisal and protected species reporting.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to work antisocial hours, particularly during the bat survey season when night shift work will be necessary.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and positively with our local colleagues and the wider ecology team / other disciplines.

Salary: £28,500 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a London allowance of up to £4,000.
