**Job Overview:**

We are looking for a Species Management Coordinator to join our team at BIAZA. The successful candidate will have a strong background in animal care and husbandry, with the ability to work across a wide range of species.

The role will involve developing and implementing animal care plans, monitoring animal health, and contributing to the development of our collection. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a passion for wildlife conservation.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Develop and implement animal care plans to ensure the health and well-being of animals
  • Monitor animal health and report any issues to senior staff
  • Contribute to the development of our collection by identifying new opportunities for animal enrichment and habitat development
  • Work closely with other zookeepers and senior staff to maintain high standards of animal care and welfare

**Requirements:**

  • Degree in a relevant field (e.g. biology, zoology, animal science)
  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Possession of or willingness to obtain relevant certifications (e.g. AZA, EAZA)

**Salary and Benefits:**

Our competitive salary for this role is £30,000 - £38,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition, we offer ongoing training and professional development opportunities, as well as opportunities for career progression.
