Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our team at Penguin Recruitment. As a Senior Structural Design Lead, you will be responsible for undertaking structural designs on large projects from commercial, residential, industrial, and educational sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Undertake structural designs using design software, ensuring compliance with relevant building codes and regulations.
  2. Report and analyze structural faults and remediation, providing recommendations for improvement.
  3. Supervise engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure project delivery.
  4. Represent the company at meetings and liaise with consultants, clients, and contractors, promoting effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

  1. A relevant first-class degree (e.g., MEng or BEng) in a field related to structural engineering.
  2. A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in structural design, with a strong understanding of building codes and regulations.
  3. Working towards chartership status (ICE or IStructE) or chartered membership, demonstrating a commitment to professional development.
  4. A Full UK driving license, enabling you to travel to project sites as required.
  5. Design experience in materials including concrete, steel, timber, and masonry, with a strong understanding of their properties and applications.
