Climax Studios is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Environment Artist to join our team in Edinburgh. As a key member of our art team, you will be responsible for creating innovative and visually stunning environments for our AAA titles.
We are looking for a talented individual with a strong background in console development and experience in leading art teams. You will be responsible for conceiving, creating, and implementing artistic visuals that meet the highest standards of quality and creativity.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality art assets on time and within budget. You will be a strong communicator and team player, able to effectively manage and motivate a team of artists to achieve our goals.
Requirements
- At least 4+ years of experience in console development with at least 2 shipped titles and one as a Lead Artist.
- Effective visual and verbal communication skills when directing internal or external teams or individuals.
- Excellent resource management and judgement whilst assigning artists of varying skill sets to the numerous projects in the studio.
- Comfortable liaising with and presenting to clients in an authoritative and professional manner.
- A self-motivated team-leader who is outgoing, friendly, gregarious with attention to detail and a passion for delivering the best possible game experience.
- Autonomous in the respect of managing deadlines & budgets, with excellent time management skills.
- Experience of managing art teams effectively and in a timely fashion.
- 2-3 years experience developing and implementing solid art production pathways.
- The ability to find creative solutions when troubleshooting and assessing risks.
- A good understanding of cutting-edge artistic techniques and tools and the ability to implement them into current practical practices.
