This role requires a highly experienced and multi-talented individual with the ability to conceive, create, and lead a team in generating a diverse range of styles, technical expertise with current-gen technology, and illustration skills. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of shipping at least two AAA titles, with one as a Lead Artist, and will possess excellent visual and verbal communication skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of artists, assigning tasks, and ensuring timely project delivery. They will also be comfortable liaising with clients, presenting ideas, and managing budgets and deadlines. A self-motivated team leader with a passion for delivering exceptional game experiences is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of environment artists to create high-quality, visually stunning environments for AAA titles.
  • Develop and implement art production pathways to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Manage budgets, deadlines, and resources to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Provide guidance, support, and feedback to team members to ensure their growth and development.

Requirements:

  • At least 4+ years of experience in console development with at least 2 shipped titles and one as a Lead Artist.
  • Effective visual and verbal communication skills when directing internal or external teams or individuals.
  • Excellent resource management and judgement whilst assigning artists of varying skill sets to the numerous projects in the studio.
  • Comfortable liaising with and presenting to clients in an authoritative and professional manner.
  • A self-motivated team-leader who is outgoing, friendly, gregarious with attention to detail and a passion for delivering the best possible game experience.
  • Autonomous in the respect of managing deadlines & budgets, with excellent time management skills.
  • Experience of managing art teams effectively and in a timely fashion.
  • 2-3 years experience developing and implementing solid art production pathways.
  • The ability to find creative solutions when troubleshooting and assessing risks.
  • A good understanding of cutting-edge artistic techniques and tools and the ability to implement them into current practical practices.
