Climax Studios, a renowned digital experience developer, is seeking an experienced Lighting Artist to join its team. With a rich history spanning nearly three decades, the company has established itself as a leader in creating innovative experiences through artistic visuals.

We are looking for a talented and skilled Lighting Artist with a strong understanding of composition and the ability to enhance game environments and locations through lighting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with design and technical art teams to create balanced and atmospheric lighting for in-game environments and cinematics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the design and technical art teams to create stunning lighting effects for in-game environments and cinematics.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the composition and enhance game environments and locations through creative lighting solutions.
  • Design and implement lighting-related visual and post effects to elevate the gaming experience.
  • Maintain and optimize runtime performance to ensure seamless gameplay.
  • Contribute to the project's mood and storytelling through innovative lighting techniques.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Maya and extensive experience with Unreal 4/5.
  • Strong understanding of 2D packages such as Photoshop/Substance.
  • A solid grasp of shaders and materials.
  • A minimum of 2 years of lighting experience on AAA projects.
  • Knowledge of various baked and real-time lighting methods.
  • Strong environment or tech art background.
  • Creative and self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills.
  • Artistic education to at least graduate level.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing realistic modeling and environment examples.
