About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Reception/Administrative Assistant to join our team at Stapenhill Medical Centre. As a key member of our administrative team, you will provide exceptional support to our reception and administrative teams, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
• Sort and prioritize clinical post for the GP, ensuring timely action is taken.
• Extract relevant information from clinical letters and add to patient notes.
• Arrange appointments, referrals, tests, and follow-up appointments for patients.
• Monitor and respond to incoming emails, taking necessary action.
• Communicate effectively with patients via face-to-face, phone, letter, or email.
• Perform secretarial tasks, including urgent referrals and summary requests.
• Retrieve and file papers and notes as required.
• Ensure new patients are registered correctly and promptly onto our clinical system.
• Action repeat prescription requests received via email, paper, or online services.
• Manage the loan of blood pressure machines and ensure their return according to protocol.
Person Specification
• Good general standard of education, including Maths and English qualifications.
• Ability to touch type and be computer literate.
• Excellent communication and telephone skills.
• Ability to prioritize work and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Customer care and filing systems skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and under pressure.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
• Previous experience working in a GP practice, hospital, or medical environment.
• Medical terminology and patient information systems knowledge.
