Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and develop manufacturing processes to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Own vehicle build sequencing through virtual, prototype, and production build phases.
  • Facility layout ownership and equipment scoping.
  • Perform engineering analysis to reduce downtime, resolve process-related quality concerns, and process cycle time issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis and own resolutions.
  • PFMEA & DFMEA activities.
  • Plan and develop manufacturing processes and in-build quality control processes.
  • Work with the tooling and fixtures design engineer to produce jigs and fixtures to meet required specifications.
  • Provide engineering support for production and maintenance activities.
  • Approval of engineering releases and engineering change.
  • Evaluate current production activities and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Work cross-functionally with operations and engineering teams to achieve business goals.
  • Identify unsafe operations/practices and establish safe procedures.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members.
  • Stay current with product specifications, engineering technology, and production processes.
  • Develop best practices to improve production capacity, quality, and reliability.
Requirements:
  • Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong, proven, and relevant automotive experience at an OEM or consultancy.
  • Experience of full product life-cycle activities and ability to achieve quality, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Experience of FMEA, Kaizen/A3, and Poka Yoke techniques.
  • Ability to create manufacturing process development plans and schedule own activities.
  • Experience in managing suppliers.
  • Able to use a variety of IT packages at an advanced standard.
  • Clear and effective communication skills.
  • Organised, persuasive, resourceful, flexible, ambitious, self-directing, and passionate about delivering objectives.
