Job Summary

Fife Council is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Senior Officer within the Gypsy Traveller Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising site managers, overseeing process development, and improving outcomes for tenants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support Gypsy Traveller Site Managers in their daily tasks
  • Contribute to the revision and development of related processes and procedures
  • Improve outcomes for tenants by meeting and respecting cultural needs
  • Liaise with partner services and agencies to enhance on-site services
  • Represent Fife Council on a national basis, sharing best practices with other local authorities
  • Collaborate with the Project Team to deliver on-site improvements

Requirements

  • Ability to demonstrate a deep understanding of the barriers faced by the Gypsy Traveller community
  • Awareness of the Scottish Government and COSLA joint Action Plan on improving the lives of Gypsy/Travellers
  • Capacity to support change and innovation in service development and improvement
  • SCQF level 8 qualification or equivalent in Housing or a relevant professional field
  • Considerable experience in Housing Services
  • Knowledge of standards across functional areas
  • Performance management experience and supervisory skills
  • Evidence of effectively managing change
  • Experience in managing conflict and distress
  • Knowledge of current Housing related legislation
  • Ability to travel within Fife
