We are seeking a highly skilled early years practitioner to join our team at Fife Council. As a Senior Early Years Officer, you will be responsible for promoting children's learning, development, and welfare within a nursery context. Your role will involve promoting inclusion, diversity, and equality, communicating with stakeholders, and contributing to the development of the nursery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to promote children's learning and development.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a positive and inclusive environment for all children.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless transitions and support.
  • Contribute to the development of the nursery, including planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services.

Qualification and Registration Requirements

  • You must hold a practitioner-level qualification, such as HNC Childhood Practice or SVQ Level 3 Social Services, Children and Young People.
  • Experience of working with young children in a formal setting is essential.
  • You will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
  • You must be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) at practitioner level within 3 months of taking up employment in this role.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence and child development from birth to 5 years.
  • High levels of interpersonal skills and abilities to lead on aspects of team work within the nursery.
