Job Title: Learning Support Assistant - Primary School

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a warm and inviting primary school in Islington. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting a child with autism in a 1:1 setting, providing academic, social, and emotional support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to a child with autism, promoting their academic and social development.
  • Plan and conduct engaging learning experiences that cater to the child's needs and interests.
  • Establish a positive and supportive relationship with the child, their family, and the school community.
  • Collaborate with the teaching staff to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Monitor and report on the child's progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in primary teaching support, with experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to remain patient, supportive, and determined.
  • Passionate about the development of every child, with a commitment to inclusive education.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meeting the needs of the child and the school.
