About the Position

This part-time Pharmacy Technician position offers an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team in Barton under Needwood. You will work closely with our Practice-Based Clinical Pharmacist to provide support in various aspects of pharmacy services, including medicines reconciliation, adherence to practice protocols, and improving prescribing practices.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake medicines reconciliation and update patients' medical records/prescribing accordingly.
  • Support the achievement of practice prescribing Quality and Outcomes Framework targets.
  • Provide advice to GPs, staff, and patients on changes to prescribing to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Liaise with the medicines management team at the ICB to manage prescribing budgets effectively.
  • Prepare evidence-based resources and information to promote rational cost-effective prescribing practices.
  • Collaborate with the Practice-Based Clinical Pharmacist in conducting medication reviews, creating patient information leaflets, and undertaking community visits as necessary.
  • Promote safe prescription handling practices, including assessing risks and recommending improvements.
  • Submit claims for personally administered drugs as required.
