The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a Support Assistant who is passionate about working with children with special needs, and has a strong commitment to ensuring their safety and happiness. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children, preferably with SEND, and be able to commit to regular hours during term time, with additional hours during school holidays.

About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is eager to make a difference in the life of a young boy with Autism. The role involves providing personal care and support, as well as engaging him in various activities to promote his independence and social skills. The ideal candidate will be patient, understanding, and able to adapt to changing situations.

Key Responsibilities
• Providing personal care and support to the young boy, including assistance with toileting and using the self-checkout
• Engaging him in various activities, such as trampolining, shopping, and walking in local parks
• Supporting him to develop his independence and social skills, including encouraging him to interact with others and participate in group activities
• Maintaining a safe and supportive environment at all times, including supervising him in public and ensuring he is always accompanied by an adult

Requirements
• Age 18+
• Reliable and committed to ensuring the young person's safety and happiness
• Experience of working with children, preferably with SEND
• Good communication and common sense skills
• Ability to commit to 4 hours per week during term time, with additional hours during school holidays

Salary and Benefits
£12.40 per hour (gross), with 5.6 weeks pro rata holidays per annum
