**Job Opportunity for a Young Boy with Autism in Leeds**

We are seeking a reliable and committed Personal Assistant (PA) to support a 9-year-old boy with autism in Leeds. The successful candidate will have experience of working with children, especially those with special educational needs.

The ideal candidate will be able to commit to 4 hours per week, term-time, and additional hours during school holidays. In return, you will receive an hourly rate of £12.40 (gross), with 5.6 weeks pro rata holiday pay per annum.

About the Role:

The PA will provide one-to-one support to the young boy, enabling him to access social and leisure activities, including trampoline parks, soft play areas, and walks around Roundhay Park. You will also help him develop his independence and social skills, promoting his overall well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional support and companionship to the young boy
  • Assist with daily routines, such as using the toilet and getting dressed
  • Accompany him on outings and activities, ensuring his safety at all times
  • Encourage his participation in social and leisure activities, adapting to his needs and preferences
  • Support his use of self-checkout facilities and assist with shopping tasks, if required
  • Document any significant events or incidents, maintaining confidentiality

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A genuine interest in working with children, particularly those with special educational needs
  • Experience of supporting individuals with autism or other disabilities
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, adapting to the young boy's needs and personality
  • Ability to remain patient and composed in challenging situations
  • Reliability and commitment to the agreed schedule
  • A driving license and access to a vehicle (desirable)
