We are seeking a skilled and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) teacher to join our team at Leeds Supply Service Ltd. As a SEN teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex needs on our Pre-Internship programme.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate individual to make a real difference in the lives of our students. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a tailored curriculum that focuses on developing employability skills, building confidence, and preparing students for Supported Internships.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with SEN, particularly those with SEMH backgrounds, and be familiar with EHCPs. A background in teaching life and employability skills would be beneficial, as would a proven track record of managing challenging behaviors.

This is a part-time position, initially working 2 days per week (Tuesdays and Fridays), with the possibility of securing a permanent role for the right candidate.

We offer a competitive salary, which is commensurate with the level of experience and qualifications required for this role. Based on national averages and industry standards, we estimate the salary for this position to be around £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on the successful candidate's background and experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a bespoke curriculum that addresses the unique needs of our students
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for managing challenging behaviors
  • Foster positive relationships with students, colleagues, and external partners
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, as required by the school and local authorities
Requirements
  • Degree in Education, Special Educational Needs, or related field
  • Experience working with students with SEN, particularly those with SEMH backgrounds
  • Knowledge of EHCPs and ability to develop individualized plans
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
