About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our team as a Highly Specialist DBT Therapist and Supervisor. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic and dedicated team, providing high-quality care to individuals with Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide highly specialist assessments of clients referred, utilizing complex data from various sources, including clinical history taking, psychological tests, and semi-structured interviews.
  • Formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of clients' mental health problems, based on an appropriate conceptual framework.
  • Manage an individual case load, including individual and group-based therapy, and provide highly specialist clinical advice and guidance to other professionals.
  • Contribute to a psychologically based framework of understanding and care, across all settings and agencies serving the client group.
  • Undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual clients, and provide advice to other services on specialist risk assessment and risk management.
  • Act as care coordinator, taking responsibility for initiating planning and review of care plans under enhanced CPA.
  • Supervise DBT therapists and contribute to the supervision and training of trainee clinical/counselling psychologists.
Requirements
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, or Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology, as accredited by the BPS.
  • Core Mental Health Profession registered with an appropriate professional body.
  • Formal training in DBT, with 2 years of supervised experience, or evidence of completion of DBT training.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS.
  • Formal training in supervision of other psychologists.
  • Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council under the appropriate domain-specific title.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Demonstrable experience of working with adults with mental health problems in a variety of community settings.
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary team working, inter-agency working, and working with clients with a diagnosis of personality disorder.
  • Experience of the use of a variety of therapeutic tools, risk assessment and management, and working with diverse communities.
  • Knowledge of legislation and its implications for both clinical practice and professional management in relation to relevant fields.
