Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Propulsor team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the design and development of composite structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop composite structures
  • Develop and implement internal procedures and evidence of compliance through written calculations and reports
  • Undertake peer review checking activities to approve methods and calculations
  • Lead and support the identification and rapid closure of issues emerging from all product lifecycle stages
  • Support technical development and research activities, methods and acceptance criterion, liaising with industrial partners and external customers as necessary
  • Provide realistic programme status, identify problem areas and implement agreed recovery plans
  • Support junior engineers within the team
  • Support installation activities in the production environment

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree (or related STEM degree)
  • Understanding of material strength properties (elastic and plastic properties)

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of MatLab or MathCad
  • Experienced in the use of SolidWorks design software (training can be provided)
  • Comfortable supporting in production environments

About the Propulsor Team:

The Propulsor Team are responsible for supporting the design manufacture and in service support for propulsors across multiple platforms. The team uses various pieces of design software as well as being involved in manufacturing and installation activities. The team provides a full cradle to grave level of support to all things related to propulsors.
