Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the project's single point of authority and accountability for the CS&A engineering discipline.
  • Lead a multi-disciplined engineering team and work closely with clients' responsible engineering teams.
  • Develop key CS&A design deliverables, ensuring they are of high standard and compliant with relevant standards, regulations, and customer-specific standards.
  • Manage the deployment of suitably qualified and experienced personnel from design consultants and sub-contractors.
  • Produce documentation that is technically accurate, grammatically correct, correctly formatted, and professionally presented.
  • Prepare and review quality plans for multi or single discipline work packages.
  • Ensure work delivered is within the defined scope and completed to time and budget.
  • Manage resolutions to technical issues and implement necessary change control.
  • Ensure designs are compliant with CDM regulations and have designer responsibility under CDM.
  • Present CS&A engineering designs to clients and key stakeholders.
  • Present technical solutions at design reviews and HAZOPs.
  • Produce and check safety-related documents, such as Hazard Management Strategy and Engineering Substantiation/Justifications Report.
  • Develop estimates, define deliverables, clarify scope/exclusions, and develop programme logic at bid/tender stages.
  • Mentor a team of engineers/designers to improve their skill sets and enhance the company's capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with key counterparts in client or partner organizations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Chartered Member of the ICE.
  • Legally eligible to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in industry, ideally 2+ years in the nuclear industry or other highly regulated sector.
  • Detailed knowledge of standards, regulations, codes, and directives, and how they should be applied.
  • Proven knowledge of CS&A design theories, principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Broad experience of civil construction and construction management.
  • Strong knowledge of designing for seismic, blast, and impact load effects.
